PBA Tour/PBA Tournament of Champions
The Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) was founded in 1958 by 33 members and is the leading organization for professional bowling. The PBA Tournament of Champions took place in Akron, Ohio, from 1965 to 1994, returned to Akron in 2018, and has been held there annually since, with plans to continue in the future.
The 2025 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championship will be held April 30- May 3 at Firestone Stadium, located in Akron, Ohio. The 2025 edition will mark the 12th annual G-MAC Softball Championship. The tournament will feature the top eight teams based on win percentage in a double-elimination bracket.
AOH Akron Feis
The AOH Akron Feis is an exciting Irish dance competition held in the Mid-America Region. Head to the John S. Knight Center to see dancers of all ages—from 3 years old to adults—take the stage. This year’s event will feature 8 stages, including 4 dedicated to PC and OC level competitions.
19th Annual Burning River Endurance Run & Relay
The 19th Annual Burning River Endurance Run & Relay is an exciting 100M, 50M, and Marathon solo run and 100M relay in Northeast Ohio. The race travels through several of the region’s most scenic areas, including the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and the Summit Metro Parks.

AOPA Fly-in
The Props and Pistons Festival is hosting making history by hosting Ohio's first ever Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) Fly-In. This event is set for August 16-17, 2025, at Akron-Fulton Airport, where hundreds of aircraft—an estimated 400 to 500—will take to the skies for a spectacular display of aviation excellence.
All-American Soap Box Derby
The Soap Box Derby is a youth soapbox car racing program which has been run in the United States since 1933. World Championship finals are held each July at Derby Downs in Akron, Ohio. Cars competing in this and related events are unpowered, relying completely upon gravity to move.
Ironman Wrestling Tournament
The IRONMAN Wrestling Tournament, held each December at Walsh Jesuit High School in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, is one of the nation’s most competitive high school wrestling events. Drawing over 800 wrestlers from 200+ schools, the three-day tournament features both boys and girls divisions with 14 weight classes each. Known for its intense matches and high-level talent, IRONMAN attracts top athletes and college coaches from across the country, making it a must-see event on the high school wrestling calendar.
Stan Hywet Hall
The estate features a historic 65-room Tudor Revival Manor house, and recently restored Gate Lodge (birthplace of Alcoholics Anonymous) and approximately 70 acres of artistically landscaped grounds and formal gardens.
